A Favorite Haiku

Even in Kyoto--
hearing the cuckoo's cry--
I long for Kyoto.

Lovely poem.

My artist husband John, when interviewed on the radio a few years ago, was asked to read some of his poems (as you can't show his oil paintings on the radio) -- one of them was haiku. The interviewer liked it & asked for another.

"That's the only one," said John, "When I master a form I move on."

(Big laughs all around.)
